G O O D B Y E > JAMES HOOK lands on the wet pavement with a splat. It'll be a little painful but at least he's alive. The RED and GREEN doors are no longer on the rooftop but a BLUE one stands, open and awaiting him. No one else seems to be coming. Looks like he's alone. |

Spider-Peter. Good Peter.
Peter the man.
He'd only known the man for a few hours at the most; it's nothing, nothing to base a hope on, nothing to make a home from. But at the same time, it's more than he had. It's more than he's had for centuries.
He had followed one Peter as a boy, through death and blood, centuries of boyhood. And now, the door in front of him could lead anywhere. But all he can think is that, even if the words lie, even if Peter is not there, not alive...
He would like to be in a world so intrinsically tied to a man like him, to a good soul. He doesn't think that the very material of the place will perhaps be tied to the Peter he met- that's fanciful, of course. But the poetry of it gives him something to start walking towards instead of simply something to walk away from.
He closes his eyes, says a prayer for the others, that their souls return to their proper places, that they find peace wherever they ended up. And, with the peace that only comes from accepting that death may be all he finds, Jamie walks through the blue door.
And thinks of his new friend, Peter.]
